Emmerdale has confirmed that Graham Foster is behind the poisoning of Kim Tate, a twist revealed during Wednesday's (1 April) episode. Kim remains unaware, believing her collapse was due to an accidental overdose of pain medication. Graham was seen tampering with her medicine cupboard and making a mysterious phone call, stating he would need to find another way after his 'double dose' failed.
Andrew Scarborough, who plays Graham, explained that his character still harbours a grudge over Kim's attempt to kill him six years ago. 'He lost Rhona in this process, so he still hasn't forgiven Kim for that,' Scarborough said. 'She took six years of his life away. That is why he just tried to kill her — for revenge.'
Despite the attempt, Scarborough suggested Graham may not have been fully committed. 'I am not convinced his whole heart was in it because their relationship is complicated,' he added. The episode also saw Chas Dingle unsettled by news of the poisoning, while Cain Dingle and Caleb Milligan clashed over accusations. Joe Tate returned to Kim's bedside, but she was not pleased to see him.
Next week, an unresolved plot point from the Corriedale crossover will be revisited, involving Coronation Street newcomer Jodie Ramsey, whom Graham released from a van during his surprise return. Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
