ITV Adds 'Addictive' Drama Daisy Jones & the Six

ITV viewers are in for a treat this month as the broadcaster has introduced a 'must-watch' drama to its lineup. Daisy Jones & the Six has recently arrived on ITVX, allowing audiences to stream the 10-part series entirely free of charge.

A Rock 'n' Roll Saga

Adapted from the novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the series charts the rise and dramatic collapse of a fictional legendary rock band during the 1970s, drawing inspiration from the real-life story of Fleetwood Mac. It centers on the complicated relationship between lead vocalist Daisy Jones and band frontman Billy Dunne, portrayed by Elvis Presley's granddaughter Riley Keough and Hunger Games star Sam Claflin.

Additional stars in the acclaimed series, which originally aired on Prime Video, include Night Manager actress Camila Morrone, Suki Waterhouse, Josh Whitehouse, and Timothy Olyphant, reports the Express.

What's the Story?

An official synopsis reads: 'In 1977, Daisy Jones and The Six were on top of the world. The band had risen from obscurity to fame, and then, after a sold-out show at Soldier Field, they called it quits; now, decades later, the band members agree to reveal the truth.'

The program has received considerable acclaim since its debut, with many viewers declaring the 10-part series superior to the book.

Fan Reactions

One viewer said: 'Discovered this little gem on Amazon Prime last week and ended up binge-watching the whole thing - it's that good. I haven't been able to get the music out of my head since. The soundtrack is seriously addictive.'

Someone else posted: 'It took me a year to finally watch this series. And what can I say? It's fantastic! The acting, the writing, the soundtrack, the costumes and the setting... simply incredible!'

Another individual remarked: 'Music + drama. Is there a better combination? This series is one of the best book adaptations I've seen, so much so that I feel it even surpassed the novel a bit.'

While one viewer noted: 'Unmissable brilliance, it's actually hard to write a review that does this justice. You'll fall in love with each and every character, yes. The story is compelling, and whilst the end is revealed at the start, in no way will you see the end for what it really is.'

Possibility of a Second Season

Although there are currently no confirmed plans for a second season of Daisy Jones & the Six, Sam Claflin, Riley Keough, and author Taylor Jenkins Reid have explored the possibility of another season. Claflin revealed to TVInsider last year: 'The three of us, me, Taylor, and Riley, were just going, "Why are we not doing a second season?" Apparently, at that time, there was a resurgence in this excitement around the project, and we started putting ideas together to try and come up with a Season 2. We were talking about potentially doing a film and talking about potentially doing one long episode, like a Christmas special.'

'It's not up to me, it's not up to even them, unfortunately,' he continued. 'It's up to the powers that be. I think if enough people were screaming from the rooftop demanding a second season, maybe it would happen. But yeah, I don't make the decisions.'

Daisy Jones & the Six is now available to watch on ITVX.
