The BBC's flagship wildlife series Springwatch returns in 2026 with a new live location: the National Trust's Crom Estate in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. The series will air from Monday 25 May to Thursday 11 June 2026 at 8pm on BBC Two and iPlayer.
Presenters Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan will host the show live from Crom, while Iolo Williams will report from various UK locations. The estate, nestled along Upper Lough Erne, features ancient woodlands, wetlands, parkland and freshwater habitats, providing a haven for species such as red squirrels, pine martens, otters and a variety of birds.
Viewers can expect 24-hour live coverage, capturing both daytime and nocturnal wildlife activity. Night cameras will reveal badgers, bats and other elusive creatures. The relatively untouched nature of Crom offers potential for unexpected discoveries and unscripted moments.
Iolo Williams will also visit three distinct habitats: the rewilding landscape of Knepp Estate in West Sussex, urban wildlife spots in London, and Bempton Cliffs on the Yorkshire coast, home to vast seabird colonies including gannets and kittiwakes.
