BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty was caught red-handed enjoying a takeaway breakfast live on air during Wednesday's programme. The 50-year-old journalist was seen holding a white box of food as the camera panned back to the sofa after a segment on council tax.
Munchetty quickly hid the evidence, leaning down to place the box on the floor by her feet, where it was concealed by the desk. Co-host Charlie Stayt appeared focused on the screen, seemingly unaware of the gaffe.
This is not the first food-related mishap for the show. In January, Munchetty called out a camera error that accidentally revealed Saturday Kitchen guest Emilia Fox before host Matt Tebbutt could introduce her. The exchange led to laughter in the studio.
Munchetty has been a BBC Breakfast presenter since 2014. Away from the show, she has spoken about her battle with adenomyosis, a painful uterine condition diagnosed in 2023, which once led to a hospitalisation.
