Adam Thomas has received an outpouring of support from his brothers and former co-stars after opening up about his difficult experience on I'm A Celebrity...South Africa. The 37-year-old actor, known for roles in Emmerdale and Waterloo Road, took to Instagram on Sunday evening to share a heartfelt post about his time on the all-stars edition of the ITV survival show.
In the post, accompanied by a picture from the show, Thomas admitted: 'Not going to lie, this picture breaks my heart, as I know on the inside what I was dealing with and truth be told I thought it was all my fault.' He described the experience as 'one of the toughest things I’ve ever been through, physically, mentally, and emotionally,' and revealed that his arthritis, an autoimmune disease causing significant pain, took a heavy toll.
Thomas's twin brother Scott, who found fame on Love Island in 2016, wrote in support: 'It's tough watching my twin bro go through that in there...makes my blood boil! ...the man he's become during/since this experience has made me so proud!' His other brother, Ryan Thomas, best known for playing Jason Grimshaw on Coronation Street, also showed support, while Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, who won I'm A Celebrity in 2016, commented: 'Aww Adam I bloody love you. You're one of the kindest men I know.'
Other supporters included Loose Women panellist Denise Welch, who starred alongside Thomas in Waterloo Road, and Emmerdale co-stars Michelle Hardwick and Isabel Hodgkins. Danny Miller, who won I'm A Celebrity in 2021, said: 'You're a beautiful man and those who really know you know what you bring to their lives. Love and laughter, you've handled yourself incredible.'
