BBC's Sort Your Life Out viewers were left emotional after host Stacey Solomon orchestrated a touching tribute to a late family member during a recent episode. The show transformed the cluttered East Sussex home of single mother Nadine, who had lived there since 1988 and accumulated over 1,000 pieces of China, 106 animal ornaments, and 87 board games.
Nadine, a former NHS nurse, broke down as she explained how her home became overwhelmed after she became a full-time carer for her mother, who passed away four years ago. 'I need to have a home again and start living again,' she said, describing the house as 'a place I don't want to be in.'
After decluttering, Stacey revealed a special cushion embroidered with the late grandmother's comb, headband, and radio—items that had previously sat on her chair. 'I thought we could put it into the pillow, and then you could always look at her favourite things but keep her actual favourite things safe away,' Stacey explained.
Nadine's daughter Merle was moved to tears, calling the cushion 'absolutely beautiful.' Stacey later reflected: 'Nadine has, for the last 20-something years, just been looking after everyone around her... now finally, she can bring some of that energy back to her.'
