Stephen Nolan's New PSNI Series Offers Unfiltered Policing Insight

BBC presenter Stephen Nolan has spent hundreds of hours with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) for a new television series, titled Peelers: The PSNI – For Real. The six-part programme, produced by Third Street Productions for BBC News NI, sees Nolan accompany officers on patrol in Belfast, offering an unfiltered look at frontline policing.

Nolan described the experience as 'fascinating' and 'unexpected', stating: 'It blew my mind and I know that BBC audiences will feel the same.' The series captures the realities of round-the-clock policing, including public disorder, drug misuse, and domestic abuse, as well as the teamwork required in fast-changing situations.

A BBC spokesperson said the series is 'an up close, questioning and important series' that explores vital issues and reflects wider society. Transmission details have yet to be confirmed, but the show will be accompanied by additional coverage on BBC News NI.
