Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has confirmed she will be taking a break from the ITV programme next week, coinciding with the May half-term. The 55-year-old host announced her departure at the end of Thursday's show, telling viewers: "I am off next week, but Good Morning Britain is back tomorrow from 6am."
Reid, who co-hosted Thursday's edition with Richard Madeley, did not reveal who would stand in for her. Regular substitutes include Kate Garraway, Ranvir Singh, or Charlotte Hawkins. Her last break was during the Easter holidays.
The announcement came after the pair interviewed a woman who saved up to £800 a month, promoting the new ITV programme 'Rising Bills: How Can You Save Money?', airing at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX. The show also featured discussions with commentators Kwasi Kwarteng and Nels Abbey, and an interview with Race Across the World contestants Mark Blythen and Margo Oakley ahead of the grand final.
During the broadcast, Ranvir Singh delivered breaking news that EasyJet reported lower summer flight bookings compared to last year due to Middle East conflict uncertainty, though last-minute bookings have increased. The airline also posted a pre-tax loss of £552 million for the six months to March.
