NewFest 2019 Lineup Features Landmark Queer Drama 'Tu Me Manques'

NewFest has announced the full lineup for its 31st annual LGBTQ film festival, running from October 23 to 29 at venues across New York City, including the SVA Theatre, Cinépolis Chelsea, and The LGBT Community Center.

The festival opens with Mike Doyle's ensemble rom-com 'Sell By', starring Scott Evans, Kate Walsh, and Patricia Clarkson. The US Centerpiece Gala is Martha Stephens' 'To The Stars', and the festival closes with Rodrigo Bellott's award-winning 'Tu Me Manques', a landmark queer drama about a Bolivian patriarch who travels to New York to learn the truth about his son's life and death.

Other highlights include the world premiere of Alexis Clements' documentary 'All We've Got', exploring the disappearance of queer women's spaces in America, and the US premiere of Megan Wennberg's 'Drag Kids', following four young drag performers. The festival also features a queer-centric 'HalloKween' programme with the transgender vampire film 'Bit' and the documentary 'Scream Queen: My Nightmare on Elm Street'.
