Parklife 2026 Ends with History-Making Sets by Zara Larsson and Calvin Harris
Parklife 2026: Zara Larsson, Calvin Harris Make History

Parklife 2026 ended with a bang as Zara Larsson and Calvin Harris delivered history-making sets at Heaton Park on Sunday, June 21. The final day of the UK's largest metropolitan festival saw thousands of fans flock to the park for the summer solstice, with temperatures reaching 25°C.

Sunday's Highlights

The day kicked off early with sets from Nicola Bear and Clementine Douglas on the Valley Stage. Douglas opened with 'Blessings', her collaboration with Calvin Harris, drawing a large crowd. Over at the new Panorama stage, Sheffield's Silva Bumpa energized revellers with a mix of UK garage, bassline, and speed garage. The stage, featuring cutting-edge LED visuals and on-stage access for fans, was one of the busiest areas all day.

Armand Van Helden took to the Valley Stage in the afternoon, playing hits like 'I Want Your Soul', 'My My My', and 'Bonkers'. Rudimental, making their sixth Parklife appearance, followed with a drum and bass-heavy set. Frontman Locksmith told the crowd: "I feel like we haven't been in Manchester for a minute. And you know what Manchester, you always do it large."

Zara Larsson's Performance

Swedish pop star Zara Larsson, riding high on her latest album 'Midnight Sun', drew a massive crowd. She opened with 'Midnight Sun' and performed hits including 'Can't Tame Her', 'Eurosummer', and 'Never Forget You'. Her outfit—a baby blue swimsuit with Daisy Duke shorts adorned with trinkets like a Hot Wheels car and carabiners—showcased her Y2K style. During 'Lush Life', she brought a fan on stage to recreate the iconic choreography. However, some fans noted the sound system was quieter than expected, dampening her powerful vocals.

Calvin Harris Makes History

Calvin Harris, who played the first Parklife in 2006 at Platt Fields, returned 20 years later to a record-breaking crowd. With a music empire valued at $300 million and the record for most UK Top 10 hits from a single album, he delivered a seamless set blending hits like 'We Found Love', 'How Deep is Your Love', and 'One Kiss'. The crowd, potentially larger than Charli XCX's in 2025, sang along with mobile phones aloft. Harris told the audience, "Manchester you sound so good," as pyrotechnics and fireworks lit up the sky.

New Features and Amenities

Parklife 2026 introduced several new features, including the Panorama stage, a food court with Manchester favorite Jerk Junction, an interactive Bossmans supermarket experience, and roaming Polaroid photographers offering keepsakes for £8. VIP ticket holders enjoyed enhanced amenities such as charging lockers, shaded rest areas, and professional sneaker cleaning services.
