Former Big Brother star Nikki Grahame has died at the age of 38. The TV personality was admitted to a private hospital last month with an eating disorder. Her manager confirmed the news in a statement to the BBC, expressing 'immeasurable sadness' and asking for privacy for her friends and family.
Grahame rose to fame on the seventh series of Big Brother in 2006, known for her tantrums and memorable Diary Room rants. She was voted back into the house after being evicted and finished in fifth place. She later won a National Television Award for most popular TV contender and returned for Ultimate Big Brother in 2010, finishing second.
After Big Brother, she starred in her own reality series, Princess Nikki, and appeared on shows such as The Friday Night Project, Pointless, and The Weakest Link. She also had acting roles in EastEnders and Dream Team. Grahame's struggle with anorexia was well documented; she released a book about it in 2009.
Last month, a fundraising page raised over £65,000 for her treatment. The page was updated on Saturday to announce her death, stating: 'It breaks our hearts to know that someone who is so precious was taken from us at such a young age.' Tributes poured in from former Big Brother presenter Davina McCall, Rylan Clark-Neal, Paddy McGuinness, and Channel 4.
