A missing Air Force general allegedly connected to UFO secrets has deepened the mystery surrounding his final hours before disappearing, following the emergence of a fresh photograph.
Final Sighting at Outdoor Store
The image shows retired Major General William Neil McCasland exiting a local sporting goods shop in New Mexico clutching a mysterious package just one day before he left his Albuquerque residence on February 27 and disappeared without trace. McCasland was spotted during daylight hours on February 27 sporting sunglasses and looking alert and collected as he emerged from the shop carrying a large white carrier bag and another smaller item beneath his left arm.
The fresh photograph was made public by the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office following a Freedom of Information Act application by Los Angeles Magazine journalist Lauren Conlin. In an X post where she unveiled the newly acquired image, Conlin suggested that McCasland might have been collecting previously ordered goods from the outdoor retailer, reports the Mirror US.

There has been no indication whatsoever of where he might be. "McCasland doesn't appear to be carrying a traditional REI shopping bag. However, REI does allow customers to place orders online and pick them up in store, leaving open the possibility that what he's carrying may have been retrieved rather than purchased during that visit," she wrote.
The contents of the enigmatic parcel remain unknown, though online observers have identified the smaller, yellow object in the general's grasp as potentially being a compact first aid kit. According to McCasland's wife, Susan Wilkerson, the veteran departed his residence around 11am local time without his mobile, wallet, wearable technology and prescription sunglasses.
Wife's Alarming Claims
Wilkerson also alleged her husband "planned not to be found". The general's vanishing has sparked massive discussion after it emerged he held both US nuclear and UFO-related classified information. She was recorded telling a 911 operator in February: "He's left his phone, he changed his clothes into I don't know what. I think he's on foot."
His career reportedly linked him to numerous other scientists and nuclear personnel who perished or went missing. Officers were spotted interviewing an unidentified female witness by telephone who stated she and a US Space Force member had dinner with McCasland the evening before he disappeared.
Witness Testimony
The anonymous caller revealed she was employed alongside the retired serviceman, who remained affiliated with the Kirtland Partnership, a charitable organisation dedicated to safeguarding and expanding Kirtland Air Force Base, a significant military research establishment and nuclear weapons laboratory in New Mexico. The witness said: "He was the head of Air Force Research Lab to the point the man's names are in the UFO documents that are fixed to be released. He's in that depth, so he has a very high security clearance."
Nevertheless the woman who maintains she dined with the general the evening before his disappearance insists something appeared amiss during their meal and alleges he wasn't behaving normally. "I was shocked this morning when I saw the alert because what I noticed Thursday evening [February 26] is that he wasn't his usual self. He was just kind of spacey and quiet, and you know that happens with people."
