The Met Office has revealed which areas will face rain on Wednesday as wintry conditions return to parts of the UK. According to the weather agency, the day will begin with rain and drizzle in the morning, before bright spells develop in the South. Its forecast for Wednesday reads: "A cloudy start with some rain and drizzle. Turning brighter in the north and northwest with scattered showers. Some warm bright spells are developing in the south. Humid in the south."

A weather map by the Met Office also shows which areas are in for rain, with much of the West of the country experiencing downpours around 6.30am. Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT The weather pattern appears to be moving in from the west, drenching areas from Cornwall in South West England, to Gairloch in North West Scotland. Elsewhere, a small part of England's east coast is also forecast to see rain, mainly in Lincolnshire and Norfolk, though also stretching inland across the Midlands.
