An England supporter wearing a Declan Rice shirt intervened to break up a wild brawl at an Iceland supermarket in North London. The incident occurred at the Chapel Market branch in Islington on Tuesday, June 16, and was captured on video by a bystander.
Chaos at the Checkouts
The footage shows the fan, clad in what appeared to be a Declan Rice No. 4 England shirt, attempting to defuse the situation as a fight erupted near the tills. A large crowd gathered outside the store as shoppers and passers-by stopped to watch the drama unfold.
Moments later, a man in a hoodie charged into the store, and the two individuals began tussling on the floor. Shoppers tried to separate them, with the England supporter eventually helping to part the men and guiding one away from the confrontation. Another bystander also stepped in and led the other man away.
During the commotion, a woman was escorted out of the store as tensions began to subside. Police officers later arrived at the scene, and the England-shirted onlooker was seen speaking with them, apparently explaining what had transpired.
Online Reactions
The clip sparked a flurry of reactions online. One person commented: "I find it very wholesome when people from different ages and backgrounds come together peacefully to watch a fight in public. Everybody's primitive mechanisms kick in, establish they are safe themselves, and decide to enjoy the show together like a real community."
Another added: "That is the one place I thought everyone would be chilled." One user joked: "Declan Rice is everywhere man." Another quipped: "Was this all over a pack of frozen chicken, rice and peas meal?" One person simply noted: "Normal day in North London."
