Sabri Guendouz Agrees €1m Hearts Transfer

Sabri Guendouz has agreed to a €1 million move to Hearts, according to reports from Belgium. The 26-year-old winger will join from Beerschot, the same Belgian club that sold Lawrence Shankland to Hearts in 2022.

Sixth Summer Signing

Reports indicate a deal has been finalized between the two clubs, and Guendouz is expected to become the Jambos' sixth signing of the summer transfer window. He will be the second big-money acquisition after Hearts broke York City's club sale record to bring in center-back Malachi Fagan-Walcott.

Other summer arrivals at Tynecastle include MJ Kamson Kamara, Calvin Miller, Amadou Ba-Sy, and Josh McPake. French midfielder Tom Renaud is also set to join from Versailles, a club in the French Championnat National.

Player Profile

Guendouz previously played for Guingamp II in the same level as Versailles before breaking into the first team and competing in Ligue 2. Beerschot signed him on a free transfer last summer, and he contributed three goals and seven assists in the Challenger Pro League.

His data reportedly ranked highly with Jamestown Analytics, the data-driven recruitment tool Hearts are using this summer alongside their search for a new manager to replace Derek McInnes.

Manager Search Continues

Interviews for the managerial position have been ongoing this week, with former Feyenoord assistant Rene Hake among the candidates. The club hopes to make a decision early next week.
