Rudiger Calls Brown a 'Monster' as £48m Bayern Move Nears

Antonio Rudiger has described Germany teammate Nathaniel Brown as a 'monster' ahead of the Eintracht Frankfurt full-back's potential £48 million move to Bayern Munich. Manchester United had scouted the 23-year-old, but he is understood to have agreed personal terms with the Bundesliga champions.

Brown Impresses at World Cup

Brown, currently playing alongside Rudiger for Germany at the World Cup, assisted Nico Schlotterbeck from a corner in the 7-1 win over Curacao and later scored the fifth goal. He now has 12 goal contributions for club and country this season.

Rudiger's Praise

Asked about his teammate, the former Chelsea defender said: 'I don't need to say much about him, I'm positively surprised. I saw how he shut down Antoine Semenyo in March.' Rudiger referred to Germany's friendly against Ghana earlier this year, when Brown faced the Manchester City forward during a 2-1 win.

Rudiger added that Brown is a 'very calm character off the pitch, but on the pitch, he's a monster. These young lads are already very far ahead for their age.'

Interest from Top Clubs

Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Liverpool have also scouted Brown, but Bayern Munich is reportedly close to securing his signature. Brown has verbally agreed to a five-year contract after positive talks with head coach Vincent Kompany. Bayern and Eintracht continue to negotiate the £48 million fee, with Sky Germany reporting that an agreement is near.

United's Alternatives

Manchester United will need to consider other options if the Bayern deal goes through. Lewis Hall is reportedly a target, while Patrick Dorgu playing more as a winger next season would leave Luke Shaw as their only left-back. United are prioritizing a left-back signing this summer, but Newcastle United, having already sold Anthony Gordon to Barcelona, may not need to cash in on Hall after that £69 million deal. Sandro Tonali is also linked with a move away after Newcastle failed to qualify for UEFA competition, complicating matters further.
