A significant emergency operation is unfolding in Swansea city centre this morning after reports that a person was seen in the River Tawe.
Major Multi-Agency Response
Multiple emergency services descended on the river near Fabian Way following an alert received at 7.46am on Thursday, November 13.
The Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed crews from Swansea Central, Carmarthen, Swansea West and Morriston Fire Stations were immediately dispatched to the scene.
They are working alongside the RNLI, South Wales Police, and the Coast Guard to conduct an extensive search of both the river and its banks for the individual reportedly in the water.
Ambulance Service Deployment
The Welsh Ambulance Service has committed substantial resources to the incident, confirming they were called at approximately 7:40am.
Their response includes one emergency ambulance, one Cymru High Acuity Response Unit, one operations manager and a hazardous area response team.
Ongoing Search Operation
Authorities have stated that the incident remains ongoing as emergency crews continue their efforts to locate the person.
The coordinated search operation involves scanning the waterway and surrounding areas, with significant resources remaining concentrated along the River Tawe in central Swansea.
