Two teenage boys and a man have appeared in court charged with the murder of Gino Robb, who died after a stabbing on Shields Road in Byker. The 25-year-old sought medical assistance at the Raby pub before being taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary, where he died of his injuries on Tuesday night.
Court Appearance and Charges
Jed Grieve, 33, of Orpington Avenue, Walker, and two boys aged 14 and 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Monday. They spoke only to confirm their names and entered no pleas. All three were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on Tuesday, June 23.
Family members of the teenagers attended the hearing. The mother of one boy told her son 'I love you' as the teens left the dock.
Community Response
Flowers have been laid outside the Raby pub on Shields Road with messages to Gino Robb, including one from his mother saying 'you've always kept me on my toes'. The pub remains closed but will host an event on Tuesday to celebrate Gino's life, describing him as 'someone who meant so much to our community'.
