An 18-year-old woman has been allegedly raped in Glasgow city centre, prompting a police response and the closure of an area under a motorway.
Incident Details
Officers were alerted to a serious sexual assault off Cheapside Street in Anderston at around 3am on Tuesday, June 16. A 36-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released pending further inquiries, according to GlasgowLive.
No further details have been released as investigations continue.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 36-year-old man has been arrested and released pending further enquiries following a report of the serious sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman in the area of Cheapside Street, Glasgow, around 3am on Tuesday, 16 June, 2026. Enquiries remain ongoing."
