British Pensioner Killed in Violent Robbery
A 68-year-old British man has been shot and killed during a robbery in southern Ghana, according to local police authorities. The tragic incident occurred on Friday at a drinking spot located opposite the Community Nine cemetery in Tema, a city situated approximately 25 kilometres east of the capital, Accra.
Details of the Attack Emerge
Police reports indicate that the victim was socialising with a group when six young men arrived on motorbikes. In a press release, the Tema Regional Police Command stated that two of the assailants approached the group, and one of them snatched the victim’s mobile phone from the table.
When the victim attempted to retrieve his phone, one of the suspects opened fire. The entire gang then fled the scene on their motorbikes. The British national was rushed to the Tema General Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police Launch Full-Scale Manhunt
In response to the killing, the Tema Regional Police Command has confirmed it has launched a full-scale operation to track down the perpetrators. The urgent manhunt is ongoing as authorities work to apprehend the six suspects involved in this fatal robbery.
