Police in New South Wales, Australia, are appealing for information after a man was shot multiple times with a nail gun during a robbery in Tamworth, leaving him with a fractured skull and other serious injuries.
Emergency services were called to a property on Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth, shortly before 11pm on Saturday, 20 June 2026, following reports of an assault. Officers from the Oxley Police District arrived to find a man in his 40s with nail gun wounds to his face, chest, and hand.
The victim was rushed to Tamworth Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics for urgent treatment. It has since been confirmed that he sustained a fractured skull, lacerations to his head, and puncture wounds as a result of the attack.
Police Investigation and Appeal
According to a statement from New South Wales Police, the victim was allegedly robbed by a group of individuals who stole cash from him. The number of people involved in the attack remains unclear.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at a unit on Anne Street, South Tamworth, shortly before midday on Monday, 22 June 2026. During the search, they seized nail strips for a nail gun and electronic devices.
Police are now urging anyone with information, or any CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage related to the incident, to contact Tamworth Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. The investigation is ongoing.
