BGT Winner George Sampson Swaps Fame for £10k Campervan Life
BGT's George Sampson Ditches Fame for Campervan Life

Former Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson has revealed he is dreaming of leaving the spotlight behind and hitting the open road in a £10,000 campervan – complete with a stash of emergency Pot Noodles.

The dancer and actor, who shot to fame aged just 14 after winning the ITV talent show in 2008, admitted that these days he is more interested in European road trips than chasing celebrity status.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star in collaboration with WhichBingo, George said he has already caught the campervan bug and is eyeing up bigger adventures in the future. "I've got a campervan at the minute," he explained. "It's only a little one, but I absolutely love it."

The TV star said he often finds himself imagining life on the road, waking up somewhere new every day and exploring different countries at his own pace. "I'd love to just get in it and disappear for a bit. Drive around Europe, wake up somewhere different every day and just enjoy life."

And while George is planning for freedom and adventure, he is also making sure he is prepared for any emergencies. "There'll definitely be Pot Noodles involved," he laughed. "You've got to have emergency Pot Noodles in the van."

The admission comes as George reflects on how much his priorities have changed since becoming one of the country's biggest young stars almost two decades ago. After winning Britain's Got Talent, George scooped a £100,000 prize fund and instantly became a household name. But rather than splashing the cash on luxury purchases, he put the money to good use.

"The first thing I did was pay my mum's mortgage off," he revealed. Despite enjoying a successful career in TV, acting and dance, George admits fame is not always everything it is cracked up to be. "The downside is freedom," he said. "Sometimes you just want to go somewhere and not be noticed."

Now 32, George says he is increasingly drawn to a quieter life away from the spotlight. The performer still has fond memories of his BGT journey, including working with Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden, but he no longer feels the need to constantly chase the next big thing. Instead, he is dreaming about campervan life, European adventures and a slower pace of living.

For a man who once performed in front of millions every Saturday night, it seems George Sampson's perfect future might involve nothing more glamorous than a winding road, a campervan and a Pot Noodle or two.
