Casualty actor Olly Rix has gone Instagram official with his co-star Anna Chell, confirming their real-life romance. The 40-year-old, who plays surgeon Flynn Byron on the BBC drama, posted a series of romantic snaps from their summer adventures, including photos with his dog Nellie, captioned: “Summer with Anna and Nellie.”
Anna Chell, 28, portrays nurse Jodie Whyte on the show. Fans were quick to express their delight, with comments such as “This is so cute, you are actually made for each other” and “My heart is so happy.”
The pair were first rumoured to be an item after meeting on set. Olly had previously teased followers with a picture of Anna on his Instagram stories, and in June they were spotted enjoying a day out at a stonemason’s workshop.
Olly’s romance with Anna comes months after his split from Call the Midwife actress Helen George, 41, who played his on-screen wife. He ended his seven-year relationship with makeup artist Natasha Fagri in mid-2024, while Helen separated from her partner Jack Ashton in 2023.
An insider said: “After finding himself uncomfortably thrust into the spotlight towards the end of his time on Call the Midwife, Olly’s in a really good place at the moment. Over the last year he’s quickly settled into his new role on Casualty, found a new home in Cardiff, and is enjoying a blossoming romance with Anna.”
