Australian singer-songwriter and actress Delta Goodrem has expressed her excitement about joining the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, stating she is 'absolutely thrilled' and 'can't wait to get started'.
The 41-year-old star will participate in the hit BBC dance programme this autumn, competing against other celebrities such as EastEnders actress Lacey Turner and reality star Dani Dyer for the coveted glitterball trophy.
Goodrem shared her enthusiasm, saying: 'I've been incredibly honoured to perform on many different stages throughout my career – from TV, theatre, film sets, to touring my own shows around the world. There is, however, one stage I've never stepped onto and that is the ballroom floor. I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining Strictly and can't wait to get started.'
The announcement was made via the show's official Instagram account on Friday night, with a caption stating that 'the Strictly Come Dancing class of 2026 is growing'.
This news follows the recent revelation that broadcaster Emma Willis, professional dancer Johannes Radebe, and comedian Josh Widdicombe will serve as the new hosts for the upcoming series. They will take over the ballroom from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who announced their departure from the show late last year.
The new series of Strictly Come Dancing is set to premiere on screens this September and will be available to stream on BBC One and iPlayer.
