Television host Joel Dommett left Cat Deeley and the This Morning studio audience in stitches after disclosing his wife's explicit reaction to his new nipple piercing. The 40-year-old Masked Singer presenter appeared on the ITV show alongside social media star GK Barry, 26, to promote their upcoming series Celebrity Sabotage.
The Bet That Led to a Piercing
During the lively conversation, presenter Cat Deeley, 49, raised the topic of Joel's recent wager with his co-host Ben Shephard. Joel and Ben, who collaborate on the podcast The Business Men and have launched a male skincare brand called Joel And Ben For Skin, made a bet to see who could generate the largest male skincare survey in the United Kingdom.
"Me and Ben had a bet," Joel explained on air. "We were trying to get as many people to sign up to this skincare survey as possible. The person who got the least amount of people signed up got their nipple pierced."
Allegations of Dirty Tactics
Dommett humorously accused Shephard of employing underhanded strategies to secure victory. "It's because Ben - dirty tactics - the day that it was ending, he went on Lorraine and went, 'Please, everyone, please.' Dirty tactics," Joel asserted with a grin.
Ben Shephard, 51, swiftly defended himself, retorting: "Lorraine definitely didn't want me to get my nipple done, so she put the call out. It was Lorraine, not me." The survey results were incredibly close, with Ben narrowly avoiding the piercing by a mere two percent of the votes.
The Explicit Ultimatum at Home
When questioned about whether he still possessed the piercing, Joel Dommett confessed that he removed it immediately upon returning home. "I took it out when I got home," he admitted. "Because my wife wouldn't look at me. I said to her, 'Do you want to look at it before I take it out?'"
The comedian then revealed his spouse's blunt and risqué response, which left the entire studio in uproarious laughter. "She was like, 'absolutely not - if you ever want to have sex again, this needs to be taken out immediately.'" Cat Deeley, Ben Shephard, and GK Barry all burst out laughing at this candid revelation.
Despite removing the piercing, Joel disclosed that he still keeps it on a shelf at home as a memento of the unusual bet.
Recent Collaborations and Secrets
This incident is not the first collaboration between Joel Dommett and Ben Shephard this year. The Tipping Point star competed as a contestant on the latest series of The Masked Singer, where he was unmasked as the endearing character 'Conkers' during the final episode aired on February 14th, ultimately finishing as the runner-up.
This revelation surprised many viewers, as Ben had previously appeared as a guest judge earlier in the same series, during an episode when Conkers was not performing. Speaking about the deception required to maintain his secret identity, Shephard remarked: "As a rule, I think I’m pretty straight down the line, and the fact I got to do something so underhand..."
A Toddler's Slip-Up
In a humorous twist, Joel Dommett's two-year-old son, Wilde, inadvertently revealed Ben Shephard's secret identity as Conkers. Following the grand final, Joel shared baby monitor footage on his Instagram account showing him putting his son to bed.
In the clip, the little boy can be heard proudly announcing: "Ben Shephard is Conker." A stunned Joel struggles to contain his laughter before quickly warning his son: "Don't tell anybody else okay."
Owning up to the error on social media, the presenter captioned the video: "Don’t tell a 2 year old secrets," adding: "I got him an NDA and he still told everyone." Fans found the toddler's slip-up hilarious, with Ben Shephard himself commenting: "I told him in secret I promise."
The entire episode showcased the playful dynamic between these television personalities, blending personal anecdotes with professional promotions in a manner that captivated the This Morning audience.
