Jamie Laing Criticized for Sex Comments Weeks After Wife's Birth
Jamie Laing Under Fire for Sex Comments After Baby's Birth

Jamie Laing has come under fire again after revealing he tried to initiate sex with his wife Sophie Habboo just weeks after she gave birth to their son Ziggy. The Made In Chelsea star made the comments on the podcast NewlyParents, sparking a heated debate online.

Podcast Comments Spark Outrage

During the podcast, Jamie admitted he 'tried to initiate it a couple weeks in' after Sophie's complicated birth. Sophie, 32, recalled her husband's frustration, saying he 'stamped your little arms and your legs' and complained about waiting 'for a year.' She explained she had stitches and needed medical clearance, but Jamie allegedly dismissed her concerns, saying 'that's bulls***, always an excuse with you.'

The couple later clarified that the exchange was light-hearted, but many social media users were not amused. One user wrote: 'Not only can’t you have sex until after six weeks, you also can’t have sex when the other person doesn’t want it.' Another added: 'This is concerning. Seriously nothing funny about it.'

Sophie Habboo Responds

Sophie issued a statement to Metro, saying: 'Jamie and I have always had a relationship based on equality and mutual respect. We don’t want our comments to be misunderstood, and whilst they might have been delivered in a light-hearted couple conversation as per the style of the podcast show, in no way should this be seen as making light of serious matters that do exist for many men and women.'

Previous Controversy

This is not the first time the couple has faced criticism. Last week, Jamie posted a video of Sophie cradling baby Ziggy in the back of a car without a seatbelt, prompting backlash. He later re-edited the montage to remove the clip. UK law requires children under 12 or under 135 cm to be in an approved car seat, though taxis are exempt if no seat is provided.

The couple welcomed Ziggy in December and have been open about their parenting journey, but these incidents have raised concerns among followers about safety and respect.
