Jesy Nelson has shared new pictures of her twin baby daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, after revealing they have been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA1). The former Little Mix singer, 34, posted the images on Wednesday, showing the twins in a stroller wrapped up warm for a winter walk.
According to the NHS, SMA1 is a rare genetic condition that causes muscle weakness and worsens over time, though treatments are available to manage symptoms. Jesy, who shares the twins with fiancé Zion Foster, has previously spoken about the challenges of caring for the babies, including the use of feeding tubes.
Last week, Jesy appeared on This Morning and became emotional as she discussed the diagnosis. She said doctors told her the twins will likely never walk or regain neck strength, but she remains hopeful, noting that some children have exceeded expectations.
Meanwhile, Jesy has announced a new documentary series, Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix, set to premiere on February 13. The show will follow her journey through a high-risk pregnancy, including Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome, and will also address her departure from Little Mix in 2020 and her mental health struggles.
