Australian model Jordan Barrett, 23, has surprised fans with a striking transformation, swapping his signature wavy sandy locks for a peroxide blonde crop. The fashion bad boy debuted the new look on Instagram Stories this Monday, sharing a shirtless selfie that showcased his icy blonde hair.
It remains unclear whether the change is for a professional commitment or a personal style update. Barrett, who has been pursuing acting, may have altered his appearance for an upcoming role. He made his acting debut in March with the short film Carte Blanche, described as a 'psychosexual nightmare' about the corrupting influence of fame and money in Hollywood.
Barrett has been taking acting classes and working with dialect and acting coaches in New York and Los Angeles, as he told the Daily Front Row in August 2017. Discovered at age 14 by an IMG scout while stealing matches from a convenience store in Byron Bay, Australia, he has since become a runway regular.
The new look has drawn comparisons to Draco Malfoy, the fictional character from the Harry Potter series, due to the platinum blonde hair. Barrett's Instagram followers were quick to comment on the dramatic change.
