Katie Price has brushed off the drama surrounding her husband, Lee Andrews, by embarking on a major shopping spree after refusing to pay to secure his release from jail. Lee is currently behind bars at Dubai's notorious Al Awir prison, despite claims he was due to be released last week.
Lee Andrews' Release Fee Soars
Initial reports suggested that Andrews, a British national living in the United Arab Emirates, required a four-figure sum to be released. However, it has now been disclosed that he will have to pay a staggering £140,000 for his freedom. While Lee claims to be a millionaire and could afford the sum, he asked his wife to launch a GoFundMe campaign to help fund his release. Katie refused, telling her husband that "everyone hates you."
Katie Enjoys Brighton Sunshine
While Lee remains behind bars, life is markedly different for Katie, who has been enjoying her downtime in Brighton. The former glamour model embraced the sunshine as she walked through The Lanes, wearing a cropped black T-shirt that revealed her heavily tattooed torso. Price, 48, completed her look with white mesh trousers, a small cross-body bag, and trainers. In pictures obtained by the Daily Mail, she was seen wearing a microphone, suggesting the outing is being recorded for her upcoming documentary or YouTube channel.
When Katie flew to Dubai to uncover the truth about her husband, it was claimed she was prepared to pay the initial £6,500 fee for his release. But after visiting the courthouse, she was informed the fee had risen to £140,000 due to his involvement in another case. Now, she has point-blank refused to part with any cash.
Katie's Stance on Money
Speaking to The Sun, she said: "I've made it clear to Lee, I will never give him money, I'll never give a man money, I've done it all my life, I've always been the breadwinner. My divorces, I'm the one that always has to give. I said to Lee I'll never do it." Despite protesting that she is madly in love with Lee and trusts him, Katie has revealed their relationship could be over soon. Lee initially claimed he was arrested on espionage allegations, but it was later reported to be a private civil matter.
Katie Demands Answers
For the first time, Katie said she needs answers from Lee. "I need answers, and if I don't like the answers, I'll be gone," she told the same newspaper. She added: "I'm 48. I don't need to waste my time. We get along really well and he's so intelligent ... As much as I want to listen to the women [his exes] and I'm really open-minded about it, I know what a good woman I am." Katie insisted she is "protected" and "taking notes," warning fans not to treat her as a "mug." She explained: "There is no way he would mess with me, and in a way, I feel protected because I have the nation looking out for me. I'm not a mug, and when I finally see Lee, I am going to question him. And if the answers I get are not right, that will be it: I'll be done. That's it. And I'll just get on with my life… and not find a man on Instagram and message him."
