Love Island star Anna Vakili has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage just days after discovering she was pregnant. The 35-year-old, who rose to fame on the fifth season of the ITV reality dating show in 2019, opened up about the experience on her podcast 'Sisters in the City', which she hosts with her sister Mandi.
Anna said she and her boyfriend, known publicly as Cowslick, were on a trip to the Cotswolds when she woke in the early hours to go to the toilet and discovered she was bleeding. After Googling her symptoms, she initially thought it could be implantation bleeding but later realised it was a miscarriage when she found more blood in the morning.
Describing the event as the second of 'two big shocks' in one week, Anna recalled being 'crying and screaming' at the hotel and said both she and Cowslick were 'really upset'. The first shock had been discovering she was pregnant just days earlier.
Last year, Anna revealed she had begun freezing her eggs, saying she regretted not doing it sooner. She described the process as giving her 'an extra blanket of security' for the future and noted that there was much she didn't know about fertility in her 20s.
