Perrie Edwards has slammed her former Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson, branding her 'difficult' and accusing her of not taking accountability for her behaviour in the final months of their group.
Jesy's Departure and Aftermath
Jesy left Little Mix in December 2020 after nine years in the band, citing mental health pressures. While Jade Thirwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Perrie continued as a trio for a couple of years, they eventually took a break for solo projects. In a recent documentary, Jesy said she hadn't seen her former bandmates for nearly five years but didn't rule out a reunion. However, Perrie's latest comments make that unlikely.
Perrie's Podcast Revelations
Speaking to Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast, Perrie explained: "What annoys me the most, and again I have to be careful how I say this as I don't want to seem like a b**** but for me what upsets me the most is when situations like this happen and the other person doesn't take any accountability, that boils my blood! I am not blaming everything on you, I am not saying that she's this f****** monster and everything was her thought, but take some accountability for your actions and realise you were difficult, you did have difficult moments."
She added: "Granted there were reasons for those moments but you can only pick someone up so many f****** times before you start losing track of your own sanity."
Feeling Misrepresented
Perrie felt misrepresented by Jesy's comments about feeling unsupported during her mental health battles while in the band. Jesy had claimed their final phone call was awkward and made her feel like she was talking to strangers. Perrie fired back: "Don't put the blame on me and make me out to be something I am not. Yes, I am not perfect and I might not have been there enough or I could have done better, I suppose. But I thought what I was doing was enough, I thought that I tried everything. And then to sit there in further interviews and discuss it publicly and be like, 'I wasn't supported' – you were though, you know what I am saying? You were, so take some accountability."
No Going Back
When asked about a possible reunion, Perrie ruled it out: "If I am being completely transparent, part of me wanted to until the documentary, and then part of me withdrew again. This is the thing: I am not a horrible person, I haven't got a bad bone in my body, but I can cut you off. I can cut you out of my life like that, if you upset me and hurt me in a way there's not really any going back. I don't have the capacity for someone like that in my life anymore, and that might make me sound like a b**** but I just don't have the energy for it. As much as I will always love her, I don't think I can hack that energy in my space."
