Claims in The Sun, meanwhile, have indicated that Bundesliga powerhouses Bayern are prepared to meet United's asking price for the England forward. Yet it is suggested there is not the same willingness to match Rashford's substantial wages.
Spanish outlet Marca assert that the 28-year-old has no interest in joining Vincent Kompany's side, in any case. It is reported that Rashford is not responding to any approaches from other clubs - including Bayern. The report states that the German champions have made no formal bid at this point. It remains uncertain whether Rashford will feature for Barca once more, but it is understood that United have no plans to welcome him back into their first-team squad.
Flick's Comments on Rashford
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has expressed warm sentiments about his time working with Rashford, though he refused to be drawn into discussions surrounding his long-term future at the Camp Nou. Speaking after the attacker netted against Real Madrid in El Clasico on May 10, he said: 'I'm very happy with Marcus. He has shown his quality and he scored an important goal. I can't say anything about his future, we have to focus on the matches until the end of the season.'
Rashford's Season at Barca
Rashford found the net 14 times and provided a further 14 assists in all competitions for Barca - playing a crucial part in their La Liga and Spanish Supercopa triumphs. Speaking to journalists after they secured the Spanish top-flight title with victory over Real, he said: 'It's really good. I come here to win. So this is, I want to win as many things as I can.
