Grammy Awards 2023: Beyoncé Leads Nominations as Ceremony Approaches

The 65th Grammy Awards are set to take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, with Beyoncé leading the nominations with nine nods. She is followed by Kendrick Lamar with eight, and Adele and Brandi Carlile, who have seven each. The ceremony, hosted by Trevor Noah for the third consecutive year, will begin at 17:00 local time (01:00 GMT).

This year features 91 categories, ranging from best new age, ambient or chant album to the prestigious album of the year award. Performances are scheduled from major artists, and tributes will be paid to musicians who have died in the past year, including Loretta Lynn, Christine McVie, and Takeoff.

Beyoncé, already the most-awarded woman in Grammy history with 28 wins, needs just four more to break the record for most overall wins, currently held by conductor Georg Solti. Her album 'Renaissance' is a front-runner for album of the year, though fans remain cautious given the Grammys' history of overlooking Black artists in top categories.

Other notable nominees include Taylor Swift, who has four nominations including song of the year for 'All Too Well (Taylor's Version)', and DJ Khaled, whose album 'God Did' is up for best rap album. The main ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS in the US and streamed on Paramount Plus and live.grammy.com.
