Hair trends for 2026 are shifting towards softer, healthier looks, according to top stylists. Warm blondes, glossy bobs and effortless waves are set to dominate, with an emphasis on natural texture and quiet confidence.
Celebrity stylist James Lear notes that blondes are warming up, moving away from icy tones to strawberry and buttery shades. 'The focus is on hair looking expensive, healthy and natural again,' he says. Styling will sit between a bouncy blow-dry and beach waves, creating movement without mess.
The 'hypergloss bob' is a key trend, offering a mirror-like finish inspired by glass-skin. Two-time London Hairdresser of the Year Jordanna Cobella explains that new high-shine technology and smoothing treatments, such as Wella's Glass Liquid Layer, deliver a frizz-resistant, glossy barrier. This ultra-sleek, one-length bob is versatile and ideal for straight, fine or thin hair.
Fringes are getting fuller and deeper. Stylist Chlöe Swift advises asking for a deep cut that lies heavy on the forehead, which works well for those with lots of hair or larger foreheads. Meanwhile, colour melting is replacing balayage, with one or two shades lighter blended seamlessly from mid-lengths to ends for subtle dimension.
Brunettes are embracing 'cloud cover brunette', a muted, expensive shade with no harsh lines. Stylist Samantha Cusick describes it as a soft wash of brown with a natural shadow root melted into blended neutrals. The bob evolves into a 'cloud midi' length, hitting between collarbone and shoulder with soft curves and 90s blow-dry energy.
Undone waves are replacing overdone styles, focusing on enhancing natural texture. 'It's about enhancing what you already have rather than forcing a shape,' says Cusick. Textured bobs with fringes and short pixie cuts are also popular, worn in an effortless way that prioritises movement and imperfection.
