Prince William is celebrating his 44th birthday and Father’s Day with a never-before-seen photograph released by the Royal Family. The image shows the prince with his daughter Princess Charlotte, 11, during the Trooping of the Colour celebration.
The photograph, taken in the gardens of Kensington Palace, depicts William in his Irish Guards uniform with his arm around Charlotte, who wears a white formal dress. The caption reads: “Happy birthday and Father’s Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much. C, G, C & L.”
Royal Family Marks Father’s Day with King Charles Tribute
To mark Father’s Day, the Royal Family also posted a picture of King Charles with his father, the late Prince Philip, on their Instagram account. The caption said: “Celebrating all Fathers, and thinking of those who wish they could be with their Dads, today.” The photo shows the then-Prince Charles with Prince Philip in Lincolnshire after completing his RAF training in 1971.
Prince William and Kate Attend Royal Ascot
Earlier in his birthday week, Prince William was joined by his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, at Royal Ascot for the first time since 2023. Catherine had been absent from the event after being diagnosed with cancer in early 2024. She announced in January 2025 that she was in remission following successful chemotherapy treatment.
On Wednesday, the couple took part in the traditional carriage ride, watched the races from the royal box, and shared a joke with former England manager Sir Gareth Southgate before the World Cup match against Croatia.
Garter Day and Quieter Birthday Celebrations
The couple also attended Monday’s Garter Day celebrations at Windsor Castle. This year’s birthday appears quieter for William compared to 2024, when he took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to see Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium.
