Former Emmerdale actor Michael Parr, best known for playing Ross Barton, is making a return to television in ITV's new drama The Long Shadow, which premieres on Monday, September 25.
Parr played the bad boy Ross Barton for five explosive years in the Yorkshire village, featuring in storylines involving affairs, heists, and a controversial dognapping plot. One of his most harrowing arcs saw his character become the victim of an acid attack after an intended assault on Joe Tate went wrong.
The Long Shadow tells the story of the five-year hunt for serial killer Peter Sutcliffe, focusing on the lives of his victims and the police investigation. The show boasts an impressive cast, including former Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly, who played Becky McDonald, and Parr's former Emmerdale co-stars Charley Webb and Sammy Winward.
Parr shared a still from the trailer on Instagram, showing him in character alongside Kelly. Fans expressed excitement in the comments, with one writing: 'Really looking forward to this.' Another said: 'Can't wait to see this.' Emmerdale co-star Amy Walsh also shared her excitement, commenting: 'Ooh can't wait for this! Well done babe. Didn't know you'd done it.'
