William Siale, 33, who was involved in a violent brawl at a Sydney petrol station last week, narrowly escaped death in an alleged underworld shooting two years earlier. In July 2023, a masked gunman reportedly entered a barber shop in Marrickville and fired at Siale and his brother Eric, hitting both men.
The brawl occurred at the Metro Petroleum on Belmore Road in Sydney's south-west last Thursday. CCTV footage shows Siale and Habib Alameddine arguing inside the service station before two of Siale's friends joined him to throw Alameddine to the ground. They then beat him with milk crates and a concrete bollard.
One of the men threw the bollard through the back window of Alameddine's Bentley Bentayga, which costs from $396,500 for the latest model. Alameddine was heard crying out in pain as the trio fled. He was taken to hospital with facial injuries and a broken arm.
Police have charged a man in connection with the 2023 shooting, but there is no suggestion the two incidents are linked. A manhunt is underway for the two other men involved in the brawl, described as being of Pacific Islander or Maori appearance and aged in their 30s.
