Race Across The World contestants Mark and Margo have opened up about their historically strained relationship ahead of tonight's final. The in-laws, who have been candid about 'not really getting on' for four decades, appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss their journey.
Speaking to presenters Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid, Mark admitted he was 'judgey and boring', while Margo noted he had changed. The pair revealed they didn't argue but maintained a frosty dynamic, with Mark explaining that their friendship developed while caring for Julia, Margo's sister and Mark's wife, who passed away from cancer in 2022.
During last week's episode, the four remaining teams crossed into Mongolia for the penultimate leg. Mark and Margo faced a devastating financial blow and lagged 470km behind leaders Jo and Kush. Despite the challenges, Mark said: 'The adversities of leg seven... have been quite a big turning point in our friendship.'
The final leg requires teams to travel north from Kharkhorin to Lake Khövsgöl, with a choice between a direct off-road route or a 500km detour via Ulaanbaatar. Race Across The World concludes tonight at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
