The Repair Shop star Dominic Chinea has been flooded with support from fans after his hand was 'pulled into a drill' in a painful accident. The 46-year-old, who joined the BBC show in 2017, detailed the incident in his latest YouTube video, explaining why the upload was shorter than usual.
Chinea said: 'Drilling that last hole with that mag drill, which is a powerful thing, there is no stopping that drill once it's going... It ate my glove, pulled my hand in - in where the cutter is. I have hurt my hand. I'm absolutely fine, no major damage, it's just cut and bruised and hurts like hell.' He added that he could not move the last three fingers on his injured hand.
Fans offered advice and well-wishes, with one urging him to get an X-ray, while another warned against wearing gloves with rotating machinery. Chinea acknowledged the danger, saying: 'You need these moments every now and then, just a little reminder of how dangerous all this stuff is.'
The accident comes after a recent emotional episode of spin-off series The Repair Shop: On The Road, where Chinea restored a beloved stuffed toy named Wappy for a guest named Robert, who was born six weeks prematurely in 1974.
