Sky One Makes Triumphant Return to Television Screens
In a major development for British television, Sky has confirmed the imminent return of the legendary Sky One channel, which will be launching later this month on Channel 106. This revival marks a significant moment for broadcast entertainment, bringing back a beloved brand with a fresh slate of programming designed to captivate audiences.
A New Home for Beloved and Anticipated Shows
The relaunched Sky One will serve as the new broadcasting home for several familiar and highly anticipated series. Viewers can look forward to the return of popular programmes such as Rob & Romesh Vs..., alongside the comedic adventures of Ted and the workplace humour of The Paper. In a particularly exciting move, the channel has been designated as the official home for the much-anticipated Saturday Night Live UK, which is scheduled to launch later this year.
Furthermore, the channel will premiere brand-new Sky Originals, including Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby and The Dyers' Caravan Park. These additions promise to deliver unique content that blends reality, documentary, and family entertainment formats.
Channel Relaunch Details and Executive Vision
Audiences will be able to tune into the all-new Sky One starting from Tuesday, February 24. This relaunch effectively replaces the outgoing Sky Showcase and Sky Max channels, consolidating content into a single, powerful destination. Carli Kerr, Managing Director of Sky TV & NOW, elaborated on the strategic vision behind the revival.
'Our goal is to make it easier than ever for Sky TV customers to find and enjoy the shows they love,' Kerr stated. 'Building on the iconic heritage of Sky One, the channel will be a one-of-a-kind destination that's big, bold and bursting with energy. It will bring together brand-new Sky Originals like The Dyers' Caravan Park, returning favourites such as Rob & Romesh Vs., and serve as the home of the highly anticipated Saturday Night Live UK.'
Sky One will now join the existing portfolio of Sky channels, which includes Sky Atlantic, Sky Comedy, Sky Witness, Sky Crime, Sky Nature, and Sky Documentaries, offering viewers a comprehensive entertainment ecosystem.
Deep Dive into the New Original Programmes
The new original series set to debut on Sky One offer intimate and nostalgic storytelling. Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby, announced back in August 2025, will track what is described as 'the biggest chapter' in the life of the iconic reality TV star. This eight-part documentary promises to show Gemma Collins as audiences haven't seen her before, offering an unfiltered look behind the scenes of her daily life over the coming year as she plans her wedding and begins steps towards starting a family.
At the time of the initial unveiling, Collins shared her excitement on social media, posting a glamorous photo from filming and captioning it: 'Can't believe the news is finally out... This time it's different. I'm putting my heart on the line no filters, no walls, just the real me... You'll see the real Gemma Collins behind the GC as I take on the biggest chapter of my life.'
Meanwhile, The Dyers' Caravan Park features father-daughter duo Danny and Dani Dyer investing in and managing their own caravan park. Inspired by Danny Dyer's nostalgic childhood holidays on Canvey Island, the series sees the pair take on this new business venture on the Isle of Sheppey. Danny Dyer previously discussed the project, noting his inspiration came from a desire to 'bring back the British holidays' and a touch of nostalgia for caravan getaways.
This blend of personal documentary and nostalgic enterprise programming underscores Sky One's commitment to delivering diverse, high-energy content that resonates with a broad viewership, firmly re-establishing the channel as a cornerstone of British television entertainment.
