Sophie Turner has been seen dancing at a London bar just four days after production on the £100 million Tomb Raider TV series was halted due to a back injury. The 30-year-old actress, best known for playing Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, was spotted at Trejo's Taco in Notting Hill, where she was reportedly drinking and dancing with friends until the early hours of Saturday morning.
An onlooker told The Sun: 'Sophie was the life and soul of the party. She was with a group of mates and was drinking and dancing. Sophie didn’t seem like she had any kind of discomfort. She was up on her feet and jigging about to the live band.' The Mirror has contacted Sophie's representative for comment.
Production on the Prime Video series was paused after Turner sustained a minor back injury. A statement from the streaming service said: 'Sophie Turner recently experienced a minor injury. As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming as soon as possible.' At the time, production executives were told her recovery could take up to a month.
Turner began filming her role as Lara Croft in January. The character was previously portrayed by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander in film adaptations. Turner had expressed her excitement about the role, saying she was 'thrilled beyond measure' to follow in their footsteps and that she was 'giving everything I've got.'
Despite the setback, a source had earlier claimed that the production was in jeopardy and that some feared Turner might need to be replaced if she did not recover in time. However, Turner's recent outing suggests she is recovering well.
