The third series of Channel 5's anthology drama The Teacher is set to premiere on Monday, March 30 at 9pm. The show, which began in 2022 with Sheridan Smith, now stars Victoria Hamilton as Helen Simpson, a veteran teacher who clashes with a student over 'woke' ideologies.
According to the official synopsis, influential student Cressida Bancroft (Alice Grant) targets Helen after being accused of being a 'woke warrior'. Cressida's vendetta extends to Helen's family, including her son Sam. As Helen investigates Cressida's past, she uncovers a world of sadness and neglect, leading to a final act of revenge.
The cast includes Steve Edge as Terry Simpson, Rochenda Sandall as Tessa Stewart, Olly Rhodes as Sam Simpson, Peter Ash as Sebastian Blake, Natalie Gavin as DS O'Brien, and Ellis Jupiter as Dee Rainford-Thomas in their debut television role.
Filming took place in Spain and Herefordshire, with the fictional setting being a private school in Sheffield and the Peak District. Steve Edge noted that the Spanish location, Vitoria, looks very different from Sheffield, while Herefordshire provided a more British backdrop.
The series consists of four episodes, airing consecutively from Monday, March 30 to Thursday, April 2 on Channel 5 at 9pm each night.
