Vanessa Feltz has broken her silence after Channel 5 confirmed that her afternoon talk show, Vanessa, is being 'rested' from July 17 due to scheduling changes. The presenter, who has hosted the programme since March 2023, admitted she was 'shocked' and 'very upset' by the decision.

During her LBC radio show, Feltz told listeners: 'It was a bit of a shock. It was meant to be a delightful year's contract, the show was going really well... I was shocked to the core and very upset and I still am.' The programme featured studio audiences and phone-in discussions on various topics, drawing on Feltz's experience from ITV's This Morning.
Hoax Callers and Makeovers
During its run, the show faced hoax callers, including impersonators of EastEnders characters. Additionally, the programme underwent three makeovers affecting its set and visual identity in an effort to boost viewership.
Channel 5's Statement
A Channel 5 spokesperson said: 'Due to afternoon scheduling changes, Vanessa will be rested from July 17th. We thank Vanessa and her team at ITN for 18 months of warm, witty, wise and searingly honest shows. Vanessa remains a valued member of the 5 family and we are discussing future projects together.'
Vanessa's Career Highlights
Feltz originally hosted a talk show on ITV from 1994 to 1998, later replaced by Trisha. After stints on The Big Breakfast, BBC Radio 2, and This Morning, she revived the format on Channel 5 in 2023, airing daily for an hour. She has also appeared on reality shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Celebs Go Dating, and Celebrity Big Brother.
