Strictly Come Dancing star Amber Davies has finally revealed the truth behind her close friendship with professional partner Nikita Kuzmin. The West End actress, who joined the show at the last minute after Dani Dyer withdrew due to injury, has been consistently near the top of the leaderboard.
Speaking to The Sun, Davies explained that their unique bond was forged under pressure. She said: 'I met him on the Friday, and we were dancing live on the show on the Saturday night in front of millions. I had to trust him immediately. But I instantly knew I was in safe hands. He believes in me more than I believe in myself.'
The pair scored an impressive 38 out of 40 for their disco-infused salsa to Sylvester's 'You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)' last week, placing them second on the leaderboard. Despite rumours of a Strictly curse, both Davies and Kuzmin have denied any romantic involvement. Kuzmin has been in a relationship with Lauren Jaine since 2023, while Davies is dating fellow West End star Ben Joyce, whom she met on the set of Back to the Future: The Musical.
Davies, who is set to play Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical, praised her boyfriend's support in a recent Instagram post, writing: 'I couldn't do any of this without you by my side... I am genuinely the luckiest girl in the world.'
