Lord Sugar Faces Mini Apprentice Interrogation for Children in Need

Lord Sugar will be grilled by a group of mini apprentices in a special sketch for BBC Children in Need, airing on Friday 14 November. The sketch features young candidates from Haringey Shed, a project funded by the charity, who take over the boardroom to question the Apprentice boss on topics including grumpiness, wealth, and football.

The children do not hold back, asking Lord Sugar questions such as 'Are you the person that made Spurs rubbish?' and 'Why is your name Sugar when you are so salty?' His aides Baroness Brady and Tim Campbell are on hand, displaying a range of facial expressions as Sugar fields the tough questions.

Lord Sugar said: 'As a special one off I’ve agreed to let some youngsters come in and grill me, I’m doing a favour for Pudsey. I must be going a bit soft but let’s see what happens.'

The sketch is part of a wider children's takeover of the BBC, orchestrated by BAFTA-winning actor Lenny Rush and Pudsey, who have been promoted to telly executives. Highlights include a mini Gladiators takeover, a 'mini me' facing Bradley Walsh, and a news desk invasion for Sophie Raworth.

Lenny Rush said: 'Leading the charge of a BBC kids take over with has been a lot of fun! It's been so good to get back into doing the Children in Need sketches, especially because I get to play a grumpy, self-centred boss as the BBC’s Deputy Head of Programming.'

The appeal night will be hosted by Mel Giedroyc, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Paddy McGuinness, Lenny Rush and Big Zuu, with the aim of raising funds for children and young people across the UK. The charity currently can only help one in six projects that apply for funding.
