A Carluke resident has been honoured with a national award for her exceptional efforts in raising awareness and saving the lives of dogs.

Pioneering Award Winner

Passionate Advocate

A dedicated advocate for the charity, Pam promotes canine blood donation at every opportunity. Through her dog walking business, conversations with fellow dog owners, and social media activity, she has encouraged many to register their dogs as donors.

Pam has also raised awareness on a larger scale by participating in media interviews and appearing on national television to discuss the importance of dog blood donation.

Charity Recognition

Nicole Osborne from Pet Blood Bank UK said: “Pam has been a fantastic champion of our work for many years. Her passion and dedication have helped us reach new audiences and recruit new donors, ultimately saving more lives. We are so grateful for her continued support.”

Pet Blood Bank is the only charity providing a lifesaving blood service for all dogs across the UK. Blood donations from donor dogs are vital, with each unit capable of saving up to four lives.

Get Involved

The next local donation session is at Vets for Pets East Kilbride on Sunday, August 9. More dog donors are always needed to meet the increasing demand for blood products. If you have a happy, healthy, confident dog aged between one and eight and weighing over 25kg, they could be a lifesaver.
