Mel B Reveals Menopause Symptoms and New O2 Campaign
Mel B Opens Up on Menopause and Phone Addiction

Mel B, best known as Scary Spice from the iconic 90s girl group the Spice Girls, has opened up about her challenging experience with menopause. The 51-year-old singer spoke exclusively about the symptoms that keep her up at night, including hot sweats and insomnia.

Menopause Symptoms and Support

“There are over four billion people like me and they are menopausal. But doctors and GPs don't actually seem to be up to speed with what you can actually do to help yourself,” Mel B shared. She has teamed up with Revive, describing it as “the most potent thing on the market.” She takes a sachet in the morning and evening, which has sorted out her hot sweats and brain fog. “But, you have to look after yourself - nobody else will, will they?” she added.

When asked about the worst symptom, Mel replied: “It's the hot sweats. Or coming down the stairs and forgetting what I've come downstairs for! And the sleepless nights with the insomnia and anxiety. They say there's something like 36 symptoms but I think I had more like 42! I was like where is this coming from?”

O2 Scroll Stopper Campaign

Mel has partnered with O2 to launch the O2 scroll stopper – a bold, straight-talking WhatsApp callback service designed to help the nation take a breather from their phones. To help the 44% of Brits who want to better manage their screen time, and the 37% who feel addicted to their devices, users can now schedule a call featuring a pre-recorded message from Scary Spice herself.

Speaking about why the campaign is important to her, Mel shared: “We’ve all fallen into the trap of repeatedly checking our phones and staying on them without even thinking about what we are doing, but I’m helping the nation to put a big stop to that! I’m a massive advocate for taking a break from my phone and that’s why I’ve partnered with O2 to give you that much-needed nudge to get away from a screen, to look up and get back to the good stuff happening right in front of you. And if I have to give you a bit of a telling-off to do it, well, that’s why they call me Scary - but you know it’s because I care.”
