A controversial social media influencer known as Clavicular is facing charges in Florida after a live stream showed him shooting an apparently already dead alligator in the Everglades. The influencer, whose real name is Braden Eric Peters, was charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm in a public place or residential property, according to legal files obtained by ABC6 in South Florida.
The charge stems from a 26 March live stream and carries a potential fine of $1,000 and possible jail time or probation, per WFLA. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to the livestream, stating on X that officers were 'looking into the incident' but did not name Peters.
An attorney for Peters told People that the charges are a misdemeanor and that Peters acted on the instructions of a licensed airboat guide. 'No animals or people were harmed,' the attorney said. Two other individuals, Andrew Morales and Yabdiel Anibal Cotto Torres, were also charged in the incident. Morales is known on social media as 'The Cuban Tarzan'.
Clavicular is known for 'looksmaxxing', a practice of maximising physical attractiveness through extreme measures. He has been involved in several controversies, including livestreaming himself running over a pedestrian and chanting antisemitic lyrics with Andrew Tate. In March, Peters was arrested on battery charges for allegedly instigating a fight involving his girlfriend and another woman.
Morales's attorney, Richard L Cooper, urged the public not to rush to judgment, noting that there is no allegation that any animal was injured.
