Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, is reportedly considering substantial financial offers for an exclusive interview or television documentary series, according to sources cited by the Mirror. The offers, including a US proposal valued at $1.75 million (£1.3 million), come after her connection to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal emerged, though she has denied any awareness of illegal activities.
Ferguson, who has maintained a low public profile since the controversy, was recently photographed at an exclusive Austrian ski chalet costing £2,000 per night. Despite the financial incentives, she is said to be apprehensive about how a tell-all interview might affect her daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, who are part of the Royal Family.
A source told the Mirror: 'Sarah knows she needs the money and she's open to the right television opportunity, but she's also very aware of the tightrope she's walking. Her daughters are part of the Royal Family, and anything she does reflects on them.' The source added that Ferguson feels a need to tell her side of the story but must handle it carefully, especially given Prince Andrew's close relationship with Epstein.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond warned that Beatrice and Eugenie would be 'in despair' if their mother went ahead with a tell-all interview. Speaking to the Mirror, Bond said: 'Whatever she said would result in headline news and the sort of publicity that Beatrice and Eugenie are desperately trying to avoid.' Bond advised Ferguson to maintain a low profile to protect her family, noting that further revelations could widen the rift with the Royal Family.
Bond also questioned claims of Ferguson's financial difficulties, given her stay at an upmarket resort, and suggested she adopt a more humble lifestyle instead of pursuing a lucrative interview. 'What's wrong with renting a modest house... and cutting her cloth to suit her finances?' Bond remarked.
