Britain's shortest-serving prime minister, Liz Truss, has launched a new YouTube talk show titled 'The Liz Truss Show'. The debut episode, initially promised for Friday at 6pm, was delayed by an hour, leading to frustration among her followers on social media. One user tweeted, 'FFS Liz get your act together,' while another speculated about 'Deep State' interference.
In the opening monologue, Truss delivered a series of grievances, claiming that 'Britain is going to hell in a handcart.' She cited small businesses dying, big businesses leaving, and people pulling their own teeth out. She also criticised the media, alleging that outlets like the BBC refuse to tell the truth, and made controversial comparisons to the TV show 'Yes Minister'.
The show featured interviews with guests including Matt Goodwin, described as 'Britain's No 1 Substack', and former Brexit party MEP Alex Phillips. During Phillips' segment, the interview ended abruptly as she began discussing ways to 'encourage' legal migrants to leave the UK. The cause of the cut-off remains unclear.
Critics have described the show as a bid for attention from the American right, with Truss reportedly seeking approval from figures like Donald Trump. The episode was filmed in a small room with bookshelves, which some likened to a cupboard. Episode 2 is scheduled for next Friday at 6pm.
